Christmas Tree

After Ozzy's afternoon walk yesterday, we decided to check out Christmas trees.  I still wasn't sure, but we managed to find one, and a great deal on ornaments, so what the heck.

We brought everything home, struggled with tree limbs and balancing and all that good cheery stuff, including moving it after it was finished because it looked wrong where we had it.  That was a mess, and it looks sort of funny where we have it now, too, but at least you can see it.  We had to rearrange some furniture--as everyone does to fit a tree in their living room--until finally, sometime last night...ta da...it was done.

My photos are crap; either it was too dark last night, or too bright this morning.  Whatever.  You can get the drift.  It's a lovely tree, and the ornaments are silver and/or red, with a ton of lights.  Now I will have to get some presents underneath so it doesn't look so bare.

Last night, without the flash...but with a nice borealis effect on the blinds...

With the flash.  The tree looks a bit odd in the pictures, like it's crowding the dining room table.  It's not, that's just the camera angle.

These two were taken this morning.  There was way too much light coming in the windows, but that's always been a problem with my inside shots in this House of Many Windows.  The tree is centered in one of the windows that faces the road, so at night it's like a Christmas beacon.  I would have taken a photo of it but it was too misty up the mountain last night.  I could barely see the house, let alone the tree in the window.

So, our first Christmas tree in America.  It's very pretty and festive, and we're both happy with it.  Course, Ozzy isn't.  It interferes with his guard dog duties of being able to see out every window in case marauders dare show their faces near his property.  At least he's not eating the ornaments...
